By means of her breeders' words Birte & Kresten Scheel::
" Lola was born on the 23 August 2000, one out of five puppies sired by DKCH, Copenhagen Winner 2000 & 2001 Easygoing Della Luna Caprese out of DKCH Scheel’s Naughty By Nature.
This was Naughty’s first litter, she was 5 years old and proved to be a very good mother for her four daughters and one son.
Naughty is very much inbred on our old dogs, since her mother is DKCH Moerkeberg’s Snowwhite (still alive at 14½ years old) bred to son DK/AMCH Scheel’s Excalibur. These dogs carry the old American Tal-E-Ho lines that we started with so many years ago.
Lola’s father (Easy) is an Italian import and he is of American lines with a bit of our own dogs behind, like DK/AMCH Scheel’s First Edition ROM (Eddie).
Eddie was our most successful dog – the father of over 50 Champions in Europe and the U.S., an all-breed Best in Show winner (around 3000 dogs) twice plus Winners Dog & Best of Winners at the Basset Hound Club of America 50 years Anniversary National Specialty in 1985 in Michigan/USA.
Lola’s father Easy was the #1 Basset Hound here in Denmark in year 2000.
Lola has been a quite successful showdog here in Denmark and finished her Danish championship easily with three C.C.’s under three all-rounders - one German judge (Elke Peper) and two Swedish (Nils Molin & Paul Stanton).
Mr. Stanton wrote about Lola in his official critique at the Danish Basset Club Speciality Show on the 19 January 2002:
"Very nice size, most beautiful overall appearance and length of body, good length of head, dark eyes, good pigment, could be stronger in underjaw, shows a little white in eyes, deep and broad forechest, good bone, very lovely neck, enough angulation in the front, good depth and shape of body, well developed ribs, good underline, well angulated and well muscled hindquarters, good coat, skin and condition, moves with good length of step and style, sound and stable'".
1. prize, 1. winner, C.C., Best Opposite Sex.
There are always about 30 to 40 Basset Hounds entered at each show.
One of Lola’s sisters is Danish & Swedish Champion Scheel’s Cruella de Vil who has also done very well here, being the World Winner in 2002 at the World Show in Amsterdam/Holland. Cruella is now the mother of two young daughters.
We wish Lola the best of luck in her new home and country, hope she will do really well in the show ring and as a mother!"
